A bronze marker has limited options available for customization, including picture, artwork, background, and font options, which result in additional costs for the slightest customization. Over time, the accumulation of dirt and oxidization of the bronze marker results in the need for continuous maintenance and eventual restoration. There is no guarantee on discoloration and oxidization on the bronze marker.

Options are also usually limited to black and white. Over time, the accumulation of dirt and loss of color results in the need for continuous maintenance. There is no guarantee on loss of color on the engraving on the granite marker.
